Aswan is a city that lies about 843 km south of Egypt, famous for its dry weather and quarries of granite, was always considered as the commercial door that opens between Egypt and Africa, its actual importance is the high dam that provides Egypt with electricity.
Aswan has always attracted famous persons like Agha Khan, Agatha Christie, and The French presidents (Francois Mitterrand, and Jacques Chirac).
We also find the Nubian villages on the west bank of the Nile that are famous for their nice colors, decorations, and special character.
The most famous monuments are the Philae temple, the high dam, and the unfinished obelisk

Nubian villages
Currently located on the west bank of the Nile (Aswan to Kom Ombo), the Nubians (who have Egyptian nationality), speak the Arabic language with the Egyptians. And between the,m they still use the Nubian language and keep their Nubian culture,whicht is quite different from Egyptian culture.

Philae temple
The temple was on an island and it was transported by UNESCO because of the construction of the high dam of Aswan, the temple was dedicated to the cult ofthe goddess Isis.

It is located between Luxor and Aswan, 105km north of Luxor, and it is considered the most well-preserved temple in Egypt.

The high dam
It provides Egypt with water and electricity and secures the country from the risk of destructive inundation. The work began in 1960 And it was opened in 1971, The Aswan High Dam is 3,830 meters long, 980 meters wide at the base, and 40 meters wide at the crest.
Unfinished obelisk
It is located in the northern region of the granite quarries in Aswan 14th century BC, it would have measured around 42 meters (approximately 137 feet) and would have weighed nearly 1,200 tons, the founders of the obelisk began to carve it, cracks showed in the granite so that the project was stopped.

Kitchener’s Island (the botanical garden of Aswan)
The island was given to Lord Kitchener as a reward for his service in Sudan, he planted many kinds of trees and plants that he brought From other African and Asiatic countries, 1896-1898.
Kom Ombo temple
50 km north of Aswan, a double temple dedicated to two triads, the triad of the crocodile god Sobek and the triad of the falcon god Haroris, It was constructed between the 2nd century BC and the 2nd century AD.

Abu Simbel temples
They are two temples about 230 km southwest of Aswan, carved out of the mountainside, and built by the Egyptian king RamsessII in the 13th century B.C.
she was transported by UNESCO in 1968.
